Catchin’ continues to improve both in East and Trinity Bay. Specks and redfish are now working the shoreline in about 2-3 feet. Wading is still done without waders. Water temp early AM about 79 degrees and heats up to 83. Visibility is great to about a foot.

The north shoreline near Whitehead is producing good numbers of redfish. This is in East Bay. Work shallow near the shell and move out near the mud later in day. The mud is holding heat and those trout and redfish are holding there. Near Robinson Bayou, small heards of redfish are mudding. Look for streaks of clear to mudding water.

On the south shoreline near Marsch Pt., trout are holding near the drains of Big Pasture and Yates bayou. Best time is if you are able to catch a falling tide. Good numbers of migrating shrimp are staging near the mouths of these drains.

From Stringray Cut to the Pens, spec’s are holding up tight in about 3 feet. Look for shad or small heard of mullet. Areas like Elmgrove or Pepper’s.

In Trinity, there are areas of good salinity. Out in front of the spillway,we are able to catch some good numbers of redfish and spec’s in about 5-6 feet. Wells in the middle are holding speckled trout. The real issue there is which ones. So many and yet only a handful have that good abundant sheel pad that hold ‘em. Ther is a small area of trout green water. Just got to find it. Moves daily.

Lots of topwater action, using She pups and Baby spooks. When the winds kicks up, go to She Dogs or Super Spooks. Colors are chartruse or bone. Some black with green head. Soft plastic are working using 1/4 oz. Colors are chartruse, plum or redshad. Work the top water aggressively and lots of motion with the plastic.

This month is a transition period. Shrimp is migrating and birds are working over ‘em. Lots of small fish and sand trout. Keepers are about 6 to one……………………

See my report for a new top water bait on Captain Paul’s fishing report.

See you’ll and God bless……………….
